I have been a Cubs fan for 40 years even though I played in the Cardinal's farm system. I have dozed off many times at the computer watching play by play on Gameday. I have a major concern I would like to comment on. The Cubs can not win the tough playoffs if they continue using Cotts and Howry in relief. They are as inconsistent and weak as about any major league pitcher I have seen. What has happened to the good old days when there was no such thing as counting pitches. I remember the days of complete games of 10-12 innings. So a pitch count gets to 105-115, big deal. Maybe if a pitcher throwing a complete game once in a while would eliminate the need for Cotts and Howry.
